The Texel Group is a market-leading specialist insurance broker, primarily focused on the development, structuring and execution of credit and political risk insurance policies for our clients. Founded by our owner, Andy Lennard, in 1997, Texel has grown to have over 70 employees across 5 offices globally (Brussels, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Singapore). Texel also owns a Managing General Agent called ‘Tierra’, which is dedicated to supporting sustainable project finance transactions with credit insurance capacity. The Texel Foundation provides grants to a range of charities in health, education, social impact, and artistic opportunity.
The Texel Group has always placed the utmost importance on corporate social responsibility whether through employee welfare, the work of the Texel Foundation, and, most recently, the development of a fully integrated environmental strategy. This environmental strategy has three central functions: a.) reduce Texel’s carbon emissions to the greatest extent possible via a carbon emission travel cap for each office, b.) having done our utmost to reduce our emissions, offset the remaining emissions on an annual basis, not just at par, but at 3-4x the recorded amounts, and c.) encourage our clients to participate in more sustainable transactions and also ensure that Texel’s own revenues from these transactions have a positive environmental impact through the implementation of our Green Impact Investment Contribution (GIIC). Through the GIIC all net profit earned by Texel from sustainable transactions will be invested into an environmentally focused impact investment fund in partnership with an award winning impact investment manager.
