Group Versicherungskammer is the largest public insurer and is now the seventh-largest primary insurer in Germany. In 2021 it generated total premium income of €9.28 billion. With its regional companies, the Group operates in Bavaria, Pfalz, Saarland, Berlin and Brandenburg. Together with the other public insurers, the health insurer of the S-Finanzgruppe is active througout Germany. The social commitment of the Group Versicherungskammer is of great importance. The strategy of supporting voluntary institutions and inititatives, which are particularly active in the field of prevention an safety, has been strengthened for several years by the two foundations, Versicherungskammer-Stiftung and Versicherungskammer-Kulturstiftung. In addition, the Versicherungskammer Group has been awarded the “Beruf und Familie” certificate as a family-friendly company for the third time. It has approximatly 7,000 employees, including around 290 apprentices.
Versicherungskammer and Sustainability
The first sustainability report of the Group Versicherungskammer was published in 2022. The Group provides information on its sustainability strategy and the principles of responsible corporate governance. Other important topics are diversity and equal opportunities for employees, the long-standing social commitment and the deep roots in the regional business areas. In addition, the sustainability report provides an insight into the measures taken to conserve resources.
