Credito Emiliano S.p.A (Credem), is one of the leading Italian Banks. Credem and its subsidiaries form a medium-sized, multi-regional banking group, headquartered in Reggio Emilia (in northern Italy), where it was established in 1910. Having operated originally as a retail bank, the Credem Group now is formed by several companies providing a full range of banking and wealth management services, with a highly diversified business model. It operates in commercial banking, with sales of standard and specialized banking products and services to retail and corporate customers , extended banking services (leasing, factoring, etc.), consumer finance, private banking, wealth management (asset management, life and general insurance).
An expansion plan commenced in the 1970s has given Credem a national presence based on its local origins: it is now active throughout the whole of Italy while maintaining a strong presence in Emilia Romagna. As at 30 September 2023, the Credem Group had 480 branches operating across 19 regions of Italy.
Credem is controlled by Credem Holding, that, as of January 2024, holds 79.47% of Credem’s share capital. The remaining 20.53% of the shares in Credem are listed on the Italian Stock Exchange and are widely held. Credito Emiliano SpA has been listed on the Italian Stoch Exchange since 1997 (CE.MI).
