Advanced Skills Development: UNEP FI Risk Centre

The UNEP FI Risk Centre aims to take practical learnings on sustainability risk assessment and disclosures and apply them to internal practices. Aimed at mid-level risk management professionals in UNEP FI member organisations, the Centre offers a wide range of activities and resources to help members assess and find the opportunities in climate and nature risk through technical skill-building workshops, working groups that develop cutting-edge risk management tools and guidance, and sessions with leading external experts, regulators, modelers and data providers.

Access to most of these resources is included in the annual membership fee and available exclusively to UNEP FI members.

Tutor-led Training: Environmental & Social Risk Assessment (ESRA)

This interactive online course provides personalised training for banks to help them with environmental and social risk assessments for lending activities. The 3-week long courses are tutor-led and interactive and offer participants a range of activities, including simulating the implementation of environmental and social policies and guidelines, analysis of case studies, and exercises based on the environmental and social impacts of the clients of participants.

These workshops, available in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese, can be tailored for members’ organisations. Fees apply and certificates are issued upon successful completion.

Tutor-led Training: Climate Change Risks & Opportunities for Banks

This interactive online course supports banks in carrying out TCFD-responsive assessments & disclosures. The 3-week course is tutor-led and designed for executives and middle management from banks and financial regulators from developed and developing regions. Participants in the course learn how to assess the credit risks and opportunities from physical climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy.

These workshops, available in English, Spanish, French, and Chinese, can be tailored for members’ organisations. Fees apply and certificates are issued upon successful completion.
