09.30 to 13.30 | In-depth workshop on TCFD-aligned assessment of climate-related risks and opportunities for banking members.
During the workshop the two expert partners of UNEP FI’s TCFD Banking Pilot – Acclimatise and Oliver Wyman – will present the developed methodologies and approaches for assessing transition and physical risks and opportunities. You will hear from banks that participated in the pilot and we will discuss with climate scenario modelers and regulators what next steps with regards to improving climate risk management could look like. Finally, we will present an outline of the second phase on UNEP FI’s TCFD Banking Pilot, which is planned to start early next year. Media Roundtable: UN Environment Inclusive Wealth Report
UN Environment and partners will provide an insight into the third Inclusive Wealth Report and an Inclusive Wealth Index on the margins of the UN Environment Finance Initiative Global Roundtable in Paris. Curated by over 200 economists from across the world, the index of 140 countries shows the latest estimates of wealth of nations by aggregating natural, human and produced capital into a league table. This represents an important first step in reconsidering the prominence of Gross Domestic Product as the core economic indicator by defining a new compass for sustainability.

Launch of the Emissions Gap Report 2018: UN Environment’s annual assessment of global greenhouse gas emission ambitions and efforts.
UN Environment’s annual Emissions Gap Report (EGR) presents an assessment of current national mitigation efforts and the ambitions countries have presented in their Nationally Determined Contributions, which form the foundation of the Paris Agreement. The report describes the gap between the countries’ promises on how much they will reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and the actual reduction required if we are to keep global warming to a global mean temperature increase well below 2°C by the end of this Century.
