UNEP FI is very pleased to welcome leading commercial insurer Zurich Insurance Group as a signatory to the Principles for Sustainable Insurance, and a member of UNEP FI.

Group Chief Executive Officer Mario Greco said, “At Zurich, we are proud of the steps we have taken to incorporate environment, social and governance considerations into our core activities of investment and underwriting. Signing the UNEP FI Principles for Sustainable Insurance allows us to build on those efforts by being part of the broader dialogue on the role insurance plays in shaping a more resilient tomorrow.”

Zurich will collaborate on first-mover projects such as the global guidance on integration of environmental, social and governance risks into insurance underwriting project that will produce initial outputs in 2018, and Group Head of Corporate Responsibility, Linda Freiner spoke at UNEP FI’s Regional Roundtable on Sustainable Finance in Europe, which took place in Geneva from 16-18 October.
